Gambar
Our world sits in the last reality left. Empathy, unity, decency...every day we're losing everything we thought we couldn't live without. The Crisis Command, failed Presidents from across the Multiverse, tried doing things the old way, keeping secrets like they were still in the Oval Office. They tried doing things the superhero way, dropping into situations with flashbang neon heroics to roars of applause. And neither approach got them any closer to stopping the creep of complete universal destruction. To save us all, the Crisis Command must give up everything they know, from their ego to their idealism, and go on a journey of rediscovery as the clock ticks towards annihilation. Standing in their way is the Extinction Society and their leader the Executrix, an organization convinced that the only reasonable act for civilization of self-destruction. To survive, the Crisis Command has to be something more than superhero, they have to be something better...and inspire us all to...

1-2-3 Predators Bite!: An Animal Counting Book By Amy-Clare Barden

Gambar
Awkward that it has 5 different types of predators, but has you count 6 predators. Took a while to realize they meant because there were two of one type of predator in one of the previous pictures. It was confusing. Not great for a children's counting book. Amy-Clare Barden Watch outâ€"these creatures BITE! This innovative novelty board book from the American Museum of Natural History combines counting with fascinating predators. An appetizing follow-up to the popular 1-2-3 Dinosaurs Bite .   Munch, crunch: look who’s coming to bite this book! Love on the Wild Side (Peak Town Colorado, #2) By Mariah Ankenman

Gambar
4 stars. Another great read from Peak Town. Dade is the serious rancher who sees Lizzie as nothing more than a flighty, frivolous L.A,. girl but the two grow closer as they spend more time together. I really enjoy this series of books with well written characters. Good read, recommended. Romance, Contemporary, Paranormal Maggie was Lizzie’s best friend and she had been shot and almost killed so Lizzie had left LA and hurried to Maggie’s side and was now managing Maggie’s cupcake shop while Maggie recovers. Maggie has just gotten engaged to Colton and of course Lizzie was the maid of honor. Someone had been sabotaging Maggie’s shop and had tried to kill her and Colton. But at least the person had been caught. Maggie’s happiness only showed Lizzie the emptiness in her own life. Maggie and Lizzie had been planning each other’s wedding since Jr. High. Dade was Colton’s brother and co-owner of the ranch. Lizzie felt Dade was hot but amstick in the mud. Dade and Lizzie butted ...

Hitler's Ostkrieg and the Indian Wars: Comparing Genocide and Conquest By Edward B. Westermann

Gambar
As he prepared to wage his war of annihilation on the Eastern Front, Adolf Hitler repeatedly drew parallels between the Nazi quest for Lebensraum , or living space, in Eastern Europe and the United States’s westward expansion under the banner of Manifest Destiny. The peoples of Eastern Europe were, he said, his “redskins,” and for his colonial fantasy of a “German East” he claimed a historical precedent in the United States’s displacement and killing of the native population. Edward B. Westermann examines the validity, and value, of this claim in Hitler's Ostkrieg and the Indian Wars . The book takes an empirical approach that highlights areas of similarity and continuity, but also explores key distinctions and differences between these two national projects. The westward march of American empire and the Nazi conquest of the East offer clear parallels, not least that both cases fused a sense of national purpose with racial stereotypes that aided in the exclusion, ...
